Press Statement from Ronnie Tullos
Republican Candidate for Texas Governor
Regarding the Central Texas Flooding Crisis
My heart is heavy as we witness the devastation unfolding across Central Texas — in communities like Kerrville, Hunt, Comfort, Ingram, and beyond. Severe flooding has displaced families, taken lives, and left many still missing. To every family grieving the loss of a loved one or desperately waiting for word on the missing, please know that my prayers—and the prayers of many across our great state—are with you.
Our deepest thoughts and prayers are especially with the children missing from Camp Mystic and the dedicated staff who have been impacted. We can only imagine the fear and uncertainty their families are facing right now, and we stand with them as search and rescue efforts continue.
We are also lifting up every first responder, every law enforcement officer, every local government official, and every neighbor who has stepped in to help. As a first responder and law enforcement officer myself, I understand the physical and emotional toll these missions take. I know what it means to put on that uniform and walk into chaos to protect others. I also know the strength it takes to keep going when the waters rise.
Texans are strong. We rally when tragedy strikes. And right now, our neighbors need us.
We are monitoring the situation minute by minute, hour by hour, in coordination with local officials. And if our campaign or I can be of service in any capacity, we are ready to step in.
Let’s show the nation the true Texas spirit: united, resilient, and always ready to take care of our own.
Pray for Texas. Pray for healing. Pray for strength.
